Stevens to Host 2023 Conference on Systems Engineering Research

The 2023 Conference on Systems Engineering Research (CSER) will take place on the campus of Stevens Institute of Technology on Thursday, March 16 and Friday, March 17, primarily in the new state-of-the-art University Center Complex.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of CSER, which was cofounded in 2003 by Stevens and the University of Southern California. In the two decades since its inception, CSER has become the primary conference for disseminating systems engineering research worldwide.

The CSER 2023 theme emphasizes how the transdisciplinary systems engineering research community plays a pivotal role in creating smart systems and the transition toward a more sustainable society. Smart systems encompass those that apply artificial intelligence, machine learning, digitalization and data analytics to provide performance enhancements, automated insights and informed decisions. Modern systems have profound impacts on economic, environmental and social sustainability, creating complex challenges that demand a transdisciplinary approach.

"Stevens is a fitting location for CSER not only as a cofounder but also because its School of Systems and Enterprises has come to be recognized as an international leader in system science and education," said Anthony Barrese, interim dean of Stevens' School of Systems and Enterprises.

Visit the official website of CSER 2023 to register, get travel information and view the agenda.

Stevens’ School of Systems and Enterprises (SSE) offers three undergraduate programs, five graduate programs, three doctoral programs, four minors and 15 graduate certificates. For more information, visit the SSE homepage.
